Internships
We offer a variety of internship and volunteer positions for those who are interested and willing to support science, research, and science education at the national parks within the San Francisco Bay Area. These opportunities provide hand-on job skills, allow you to live in and experience amazing parks, and you will contribute to the conservation and preservation of our nation's most important gems.
Positions are available at all of the bay areas parks including: Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site, Fort Point National Historic Site, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, John Muir National Historic Site, Muir Woods National Monument, Pinnacles National Park, Point Reyes National Seashore, and the Presidio of San Francisco.
Current Positions - Vegetation and Rangeland Management Youth Internship at Point Reyes National Seashore
This internship is an opportunity for youth aged 18-25 to get exposure to and experience working in Natural Resources Management within the National Park Service (NPS). Specifically, the intern will work under the technical guidance of the Range Management Program and the Habitat Restoration Program of the Natural Resources Division at Point Reyes National Seashore. Because of the range of activities that the intern will engage in, this internship will provide a broad view of different aspects of the National Park Service and will be especially beneficial to youth considering job opportunities in the environmental sciences within NPS. The intern will work half time with the Range Management Program and half time with the Habitat Restoration Program, for a total of 5 days/week, generally Monday through Friday. The intern will be asked to work one Sunday per month, but will still be given two full days off per week.
Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, but must be received no later than May 30th, 2013.
