Internships
We offer a variety of internship and volunteer positions for those who are interested and willing to support science, research, and science education at the national parks within the San Francisco Bay Area. These opportunities provide hand-on job skills, allow you to live in and experience amazing parks, and you will contribute to the conservation and preservation of our nation's most important gems.
Positions are available at all of the bay areas parks including: Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site, Fort Point National Historic Site, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, John Muir National Historic Site, Muir Woods National Monument, Pinnacles National Monument, Point Reyes National Seashore, and the Presidio of San Francisco.

Point Reyes National Seashore
Scientist on a Sphere: Climate Change Science Communication and Education Internship
June 1 – August 30, 2012 (flexible)
Shared bunk style housing is available at no cost.
During this three month internship, an intern will develop a state of art multimedia climate change communication program for students and the public that utilizes the Science on a Sphere (SOS) (http://sos.noaa.gov) at Point Reyes National Seashore. Near the end of the internship, the intern will work with the interpretation division give pilot presentations using the Science on a Sphere to the general public for later adoption as a long-term park program offered to school groups and the public. Information will also be presented in the program on how teachers, students and the public, can to get involved and volunteer in park conservation activities that may help mitigate global climate change (e.g., re-vegetation projects).
